Ibanez GRX40JE Overhaul | Part 8

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | Part 8 | 9

To date, the back cover screw hole plugs have been leveled, and fresh screw holes drilled. The tuner holes have also been reamed to fit the new Korean tuners. I've had to plug the old tuner screw holes and drill new ones, of course. Besides new tuners, this GRX40JE has also received new butterfly string trees.

Having taken care of woodwork, I was able to wire in the output jack and tremolo claw ground, and reinstall the pickguard. Everything works as it should, thankfully. Meanwhile, the cleaned and polished FAT-6 bridge has been treated to new intonation screws, springs and saddle height hex screws. With regular maintenance, this bridge should be useable for many years to come.
