Albert's TRB-6P | Hardware

Howdy folks! Welcome to a deep dive into the hardware on Albert Yap's modified Yamaha TRB-6P Six-String Bass. First up are the three-a-side sealed tuners, which are factory issued and bear the "Yamaha Japan" stamp. Next, we have a solid brass nut, which replaced the stock bone nut when the TRB-6 was converted to a fretless. Moving down to the base of the neck, we see the truss rod access channel and adjustment socket. This socket accepts a 3/16" hex wrench.

Let us examine the bridge now. The factory spec BPZ-6 is no more, and in its place is a gold Monorail-style bridge. This bridge features six separately-mounted "bridge segments" and saddles for the C, G, D, A, E and B strings. Individual string height is adjusted via two hex screws on either side of its saddle. The final hardware modification on Albert's TRB-6P is the conversion of the Monorail bridge from top load to string-through. Six holes have been drilled right through the body and ferrules installed, enabling strings to be loaded from the back.
