Test Fitting the QS-5 Preamp
Think I'll take a short break from
bridge repair, and test fit the QS-5 preamp. It's a little too wide to fit in the old cavity, so I've had to do some filing and sanding. Now I can push QS-5 in, but the curve of the preamp housing does not match that of the guitar's upper bout. Will have to move it up, which means removing more wood. With that done, the QS-5 fits nicely. However, there's a gaping hole that needs to be covered. The solution is a piece of black pickguard material secured with pickup ring screws. Yes, it looks much better now.
