July 31 Update
The first thing I did after receiving this
Congress BW-4151CB Acoustic was to service the truss rod nut. Following that, I carefully tightened the truss rod a little day by day and finally got the fretboard level.
The next step was to clean the frets and fretboard, which was a really arduous task. The first two frets were badly worn, so they were replaced. Only after replacing those two frets, did I realize that the third fret was also a goner. Oh well, it's all in a day's work. Having replaced the three frets, it was time for a fret level and dress. I'm pleased to report that the frets and fretboard should be playable for many years to come.
Now I had to tackle the bulging belly, which was particularly evident in the area right under the bridge. First, a small plastic container containing a damp rag was placed inside the guitar. Then, two narrow planks of wood and foam spacers were clamped to the top and back, right over the affected area. The soundhole and preamp side cavity were also sealed to minimize moisture leakage.
The Congress BW-4151CB is now lying on its back in my work room. I'll be checking the damp rag every couple of days and re-moisten it as necessary. The estimated time for the belly bulge to be reduced should be anywhere from two to four weeks. This method has worked for me before, so I see some light at the end of the tunnel.
