Introduction
Here's an old and neglected acoustic in need of a major overhaul. It was sold by Swee Lee Singapore, based on the headstock sticker. As the website address "www.sweelee.com.sg" is also displayed, we may conclude that this Congress was purchased no earlier than 1994. This is because public Internet access in Singapore only began that year.
At a glance, the instrument appears to be constructed from wholly natural materials. I'll hazard a guess that we're looking at a spruce top, rosewood fretboard, bridge, back and sides, and a nyatoh neck. Besides a faux tortoiseshell pickguard, the entire guitar features multi-colored binding and purfling that borders on the psychedelic.
