This guitar was received in totally unplayable condition, minus the bridge pickup and toggle switch. The bridge pickup cavity had also been brutally hacked to accommodate a larger pickup; which had obviously been removed by the previous owner.

The electronics, save the neck pickup [DCR 8.9K]; were shot, and the hardware tarnished but useable. Replacement parts included a bridge humbucker [DCR 15.2K], three Alpha A500K pots, a generic toggle switch, NYS229 output jack, cover plate screws, curved chrome oval jack plate; and three chrome control knobs. And for some reason, the owner wanted the Grover™ A102C tuners replaced with a generic set.

There was a lot of work done on this FB1. This included a thorough cleaning and polishing of all useable hardware, fretboard and frets, body, neck; and what have you. The bridge pickup cavity was also reshaped to a neater rectangular profile that would accommodate the new bridge pickup. Last but not least, conductive shielding paint was applied to the pickup and control cavities. This was because the current owner loves playing with lots of distortion; and was concerned about noise.
