Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom

Introduction
This here is a 2005 made-in-Korea Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul Custom Camo Bullseye. I have to admit that the original hard shell case [OHSC] is impressive. Specifications are generally what you'd expect on an LP-style guitar, and then some: gold hardware, Grover tuners, bound maple fretboard, pearloid block inlays, 22 jumbo frets, EMG-H4A Neck Pickup; and EMG-H4 Bridge Pickup.

Condition as Received
As received, the guitar was not in good shape. Grime, goo and corrosion were to be found everywhere. It's best I let the pictures do the talking. For starters, the switch and control cavities were poorly shielded, while the cavity covers and pickup cavities lacked any shielding. Besides this, the bridge pickup was dead; and the bridge tone control did not seem to work. I managed to get the EMG-H4 working again, but the output was no match for that of the EMG-H4A. As such, we decided to swap the neck and bridge pickups. There was also a whole lot more to be done, as listed in the next section.
