This was a first for me. I'd never had anyone ship me their guitar for repairs before, but this chap from Rompin actually did it via J&T. Once it arrived, the wife and I gingerly unpacked it. Thankfully, nothing was damaged; and we both breathed a sigh of relief.
Anyway, the guitar was a very nicely-built gloss black LP-style solidbody. Seriously, I was impressed by the build quality and the wide wiring channels. Besides this, the control and switch cavities were already shielded with conductive shielding paint. The pickup cavities and cover plates were not, however. I made a mental note to properly shield this guitar and make sure the shielding was grounded.
Upgrades carried out on this instrument included full shielding and rewire, four Alpha A500K pots, two poly 0.022uF caps, NYS229 output jack; and three-way toggle switch.
