Overhauling an RCE PJ Bass - Part 6

Part 6 - The Home Stretch

Although it's been hardly 24 hours since the last post, I'm glad to report that we're into the home stretch. This bass has been restrung with D' Addario EXL170s, tuned, and put through its paces with the help of my little Fender Rumble 15. It sounds like it should, and all that remains is the final setup. Meanwhile, moving back to the wee hours of this morning, here's a pic of the fretboard after the first application of lemon oil.

Conditioning the Fretboard

Right then, let's fast forward to 9:37 AM. Here's the sunburst RCE after overhauling. It shows its age, and I believe the various worn spots, dings, dents, and scratches serve to add character to this well-used instrument. And in case you're wondering about the positioning of the saddles, it's because I have not intonated them yet.
