Yamaha SB-800 | Headstock
A decal that reads "Super Bass 800" and "YAMAHA since 1887" adorns the headstock face. On the back of the headstock, one can clearly see the serial number [001607], stamped right into the wood. The headstock also houses a single "butterfly" string retainer for the G and D strings, as well as four open gear "batwing" tuners.

Moving down, we have a one-piece bolt-on maple neck with a "skunk stripe" running down the back. The unbound playing surface features a 33-3/4" scale, 9-1/2" radius, 20 frets, pearloid block inlays, and black side dots.

Yamaha SB-800 | Truss Rod
The truss rod adjustment mechanism is housed in the neck heel. It is concealed beneath a removable cover incorporated into the pickguard. Unfastening the two securing screws reveals the truss rod channel and adjustment nut. The truss rod may be tightened or loosened with a 5/16" truss rod hex wrench.
