Final Setup and Photo Shoot
As described in
Part Two, this Mentreel MD-160CN Acoustic Guitar underwent a partial refret. After replacing the first eight frets, all 20 were leveled and dressed in the usual manner. The D string tuner also had to be replaced as the bushing would not screw all the way into the body.
The worn-out saddle was duly retired from active duty, and the new saddle lowered for optimum playability. However, the bridge now needed to be ramped to allow for sufficient string break angle. Once the bridge had been ramped, the guitar was strung with D'Addario EXP10s for the final setup.
As a finishing touch, this Mentreel MD-160CN Acoustic Guitar was treated with 100% natural wood polishing wax [beeswax and carnauba] and given a good buffing. With reference to the images in
Part One, I do believe you'll see a marked difference. As always, kindly refer to the image captions for more information.
