This DARS S-style electric has been in storage since its original owner passed away, God rest his soul. The guitar is now in the hands of his younger brother, who believes that all is not quite right with it. As such, he's brought it to CA Guitar Repair for a diagnosis and repair estimate.
At the time of writing, a number of issues clearly need to be addressed. These include the missing high E tuner bushing and washer, the grimy fretboard and frets, incorrect neck pitch, frozen volume and tone pots, grimy and tarnished hardware, rusty pickup pole pieces, and a grimy body, to mention a few. On the bright side, all three pickups are in working order and feature shielded leads. It's also reassuring to note that the body appears to be solid wood.
Done the front and back of this Yamaha F310E Acoustic, have we. Now, we'll examine this guitar in profile view, nice and slow. You'll notice a rather newish Fishman onboard preamp and endpin jack, which I do not think were on the guitar when it left the factory.
This post is about the old Yamaha F310E Acoustic that came in on August 17. Do bear in mind that there is absolutely no information regarding this particular instrument online. As such, I cannot vouch for its authenticity, nor list any specifications. In any case, it's a guitar that needs some help, and help it I shall. Before getting into that, though, let's look at some front view pics.
