The JCraft JB-1 stays faithful to the classic Jazz Bass configuration of two single-coils, neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume and master tone. Both the neck and bridge pickups do not feature exposed polepieces, as they are totally encased in what seems to be matte black ABS plastic. My guess is that within these casings are ceramic bar magnets. Next, in terms of DCR, the neck pickup reads 6.13K, and the bridge, 6.43K. Moving on, beneath the control plate are three mini pots and a generic output jack. The backs of the pots are stamped "CF," indicating that they were manufactured by Shenzhen-based Cherkfan Electronics. I should also mention that the control cavity does not appear to shielded.
