On November 20 2010, the Kuantan PSKPP Band emerged champions at Pertandingan Juara Kugiran PSKPP Pahang 2010. The band comprised S. Leman [vocals], J. Zalizan [vocals], Wan Asma Izam [drums], Wan Kamarul Ariffin [keyboards], Rizal Efendi [bass], Johari Alwi [guitar] and yours truly [guitar]. The venue for the competition was Bentong Vega Mall. Now, as the competition theme was '60s "pop yeh yeh," we performed Shorga Idaman, Dendang Remaja and an instrumental medley.
Our band was featured in Utusan Online on December 17. Sadly, they got the competition date and song list wrong. In any case, we do appreciate the coverage. Many thanks to officer-in-charge Che'gu Awal and band manager Tengku Hisamuddin for taking care of our rehearsal, equipment, transport and accommodation needs.
