It all started in 1972, when my dearly departed Mama and Poh Poh [grandma] gifted me my first guitar. They'd pooled their resources and purchased a fabriqué en Chine "Kapok" acoustic for RM28, which was quite a lot of money in those days. Thank you, Mama and Poh Poh. Then, in 1976, I played an electric guitar for the very first time. This was a '60s Teisco belonging to the late Mr. Kung Swee Hock, my Science teacher. 1981 saw me subbing for our band's regular bass player on a gig, and I've been gigging on both bass and guitar ever since.
