Diagnosis
This 2009 Epiphone Les Paul Custom is suffering from a chronic case of crud and grime infestation. Right away, you can see that the truss rod cover and toggle switch tip are missing. Besides this, the pickups and electronics are totally shot, the nut slots have been cut too deep; and the tune-o-matic bridge is badly corroded. There's also quite a lot of fretting out and buzz in the upper registers, which needs to be addressed as well. On the plus side, all body cavities have been shielded with conductive shielding paint. In Part Three, we'll take a look at what was done to get this guitar back into shape.
