Baby Taylor BT1e - Lifting Bridge Repair - Part 1

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

A while back, I posted a video on this lovely Baby Taylor BT1e. All is not well in the nursery, though. The ebony bridge has definitely started to lift. Fixing this issue will involve bridge removal, dried glue cleanup, sanding and leveling, and regluing. Here are a few close up shots of the lifting bridge.

After detaching the snug-fitting the ES-B Pickup Housing, and removing the bridge pins and Micarta saddle, the bridge separated from the Sitka spruce top fairly easily. You can clearly see the layer of dried glue on the top as well as the underside of the bridge. As fresh glue will not adhere to dried glue, I'll begin this repair by carefully scraping and sanding off all this dried glue. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
