Repairing an Acoustic Guitar Hard Case - Part 1

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

This hard case belongs to the Yamaha APX500 thin-line acoustic-electric guitar featured in a previous post

Sunburst RCE PJ Bass - Deja Vu

I first worked on this beat-up sunburst RCE four-string bass back in September 2025. That job turned out to be a full overhaul involving parts replacement and rewiring. Well, owner Fonzie Osman has brought it in today for a string change and setup. Fonzie has also provided two sets of strings, namely, D'Addario EXL170s and Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys. After some discussion, we've decided to go with the Hybrid Slinky set as it features a heavier E string.

Sqoe SBMS500 Five-String Bass - Part 1

Part 2 ▶

Good old buddy Fonzie Osman has bought himself a brand new Sqoe SBMS500 Five-String Bass. He's just put on a fresh set of strings and is happy with the way it sounds. His only misgiving concerns the action, which he feels is on the high side. Not to worry, for a proper setup should set things right.

2023 Epiphone Les Paul Modern - Part 1

Part 2 ▶

There's nothing malfunctioning on this 2023 Epiphone Les Paul Modern. It's just that the owner feels there's something not quite right with the current setup.

Repairing a Yamaha APX500 - Part 1

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5

This Yamaha APX500 thin-line acoustic-electric guitar is more than 20 years old. Issues that need to be addressed include belly bulge, a lifting bridge, a grimy fretboard, and a dead preamp. The owner would also like to replace the stock tuners, as they are showing signs of rust after years of use.

Repairing a Yamaha F310 Acoustic - Part 1

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

This Yamaha F310 Acoustic has a hole in its lower bout, no thanks to a careless kid.

Heritage Ascent H-150 - Part 1

Part 2

Introducing a Heritage Ascent H-150 that suffers from issues related to playability. Methinks a proper setup will do this guitar a world of good.
